The Director, Pioneering Influence role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned communications practitioner. We are seeking an individual who is highly entrepreneurial, looking for a dynamic environment, and who is ready to make an impact working with a great team of professionals. This position reports to the President, Pioneering Influence. They will work directly with the Influence team to engage with the Pioneering Collective community, developing strong relationships with client members to help them build and reinforce their thought leadership and elevate their profiles as a recognized presence in their industries. They will support in client management, development and execution of innovative, strategic plans that span channels and formats, aligned with members’ objectives and personal brand and reputation goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop strong client relations expertise to support program planning and problem solving on communications needs and direction of programs to exceed clients’ objectives.
Support development and execution of multi-channel strategy for members.
Drive thought leadership through development of strong narratives, quality content, out-of-the box communications and media strategies and initiatives to raise the profiles of senior executives and leaders.
Work directly with the Pioneering Influence media relations team on PR/speaking opportunities; provide direction on pitching strategy and track and manage status and progress, adjust as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Influence and Collective team) and maintain open communication with senior management on member strategies and the Pioneering Collective business.
Project Manage members’ activities to ensure consistency of strategy and execution across functions including content development, social media, coaching, media relations and speaking engagements.
Assist in writing and copy editing of members’ content (articles, social content, media documents, resumes, bio and LinkedIn, etc.)
Continually seek to evolve knowledge of your specialty, members’ businesses, media landscape, and emerging trends in social media, communications, and PR.
Evaluate and measure effectiveness of programs, provide quarterly reports to members, survey members to continuously refine and optimize results through quantifiable metrics.
Job Requirements
8-10 years of broad communications experience, developing and executing quality communications and thought leadership programs.
Demonstrated success in leading and managing projects, able to advance projects and deliver successful execution on time.
Ability to collaborate effectively, manage, support and motivate team members and facilitate positive working relationships with colleagues and partners across the network.
Mature, responsible individual who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment.
Success working with very senior executives/leaders.
Detail oriented; ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to see larger picture and ensure projects ladder up to strategy.
Leadership skills to motivate team at all levels.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Creative and energetic.
Interpersonal skills to establish a strong rapport with members, internal colleagues across the organization.
Annual Compensation: $110,000-$130,000
Location: This is a remote work position, although candidates will be required to occasionally travel to meet with clients and internal team members. Candidates located in the New Jersey or Greater New York Metropolitan area preferred.
